Works very well. It is definitely overwhelming at first. But it is a tank and chugs along very reliably. Provided it was configured correctly in the first place! This was my first exposure to an email server so I have a special place for it in my heart. And i really like how cheap Microsoft Exchange server 2016 Enterprise was at Tech Supply Shop, when paired with customer support they provided. We don't even go to microsoft anymore.
Still love Exchange 2016 Enterprise. Though there were major changes to 2016, Exchange overall is great! Once it's installed it is pretty easy to make changes whether add mailboxes, delete, or everything else that Exchange can do. It's very powerful. Of course, it is not perfect. There are issues every now and then, but overall highly recommend, if you need an on-site (or cloud) email server vs just the service.
Exchange was a very reliable product for bigger and small customers, but I've being using Exchange 2016 Server Enterprise for the last four months, Still delivers good email desktop solution over outlook and other clients; but the customer support from Tech Supply Shop was the cherry on top of the cake. They delivered the product same day, payment was easy and they answered any question we had.
The limits of databases
Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 is available in two server editions: Standard Edition and
|Standard Edition||Standard Edition is limited to 5 mounted databases per server.|
|Enterprise Edition||Enterprise Edition can scale to 100 mounted databases per server.|
A mounted database
A mounted database is a database that is in use. A mounted database can be an active mailbox database that is mounted for use by clients, or a passive mailbox database that is mounted in recovery for log replication and replay. While you can create more databases than the limits described above, you can only mount the maximum number specified above. The recovery database does not count towards this limit.
These licensing editions are defined by a product key. When you enter a valid license
product key, the supported edition for the server is established.
Product keys can be used for the same edition key swaps and upgrades only. They can't be used for downgrades.
- You can use a valid product key to move from the evaluation version (Trial Edition) of Exchange 2016 to either Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition.
- You can also use a valid product key to move from Standard Edition to Enterprise Edition.
