Huge bonuses!

SQL server is very reliable and stable. Also lots of help documentation and support available online. With all the duties I have to attend to, it's reassuring to know SQL is keeping my patient's electronic health information secure while I document it! Provides standards based storage that is portable with other solutions that offer out of box support for SQL I like the ease to manage different database software in an environment which is the same for any database engine. Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Standard 2 Core - Open Academic also allows you to back up, restore and clone instances effortlessly. This has saved me much time and effort over the years. Additionally you can create and test difference database warehouse technology without having to know much about the installation and configuration of the same. Which is a huge plus if you are not a trained DBA for each different database technology.

really easy to use!

Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Standard 2 Core - Open License w/ Software Assurance is very easy to use, especially with Tech Supply Shop's assistance. Easy to use language, and ETL tool. The language is similar to what is used in TOAD and is very user friendly. SQL server has documentation readily accessible and connects well with other products in Microsoft platform. It is one of the more widely used DBs and because of that, it can be connected to by many 3rd party products.

better performance

Simple replication of entire service and data for testing and development cycles. Data Replication (secondary servers -- read only replicant) are simple to set up and take down compared to doing this with home grown solutions. Moving self hosted database into Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Standard 2 Core - Open Academic and found the pricing and performance to be better than what we needed. In short I simply no longer need to worry about most of the database "management" things I had to do -- now everything is just a few clicks away including complete replication of the service and data for painless test and development cycles..
