Neat software

While not being used in our production environment, I've been trying it out at home - it's pretty neat. To be honest I haven't really had a lot of time with 2016. With so many organizations hanging on to older operating systems, I doubt that Microsoft Windows Server Remote Desktop Services 2016 - Device CAL will see much love in the first three to four years of its existence. There are just too many choices right now: Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, and soon 2016. And then 2016 R2. Maybe Windows Server 2020 will convince IT pros to adopt sooner rather than later, but I suspect not.

Testing it, but seems alright so far

I have been intrigued by the Storage Spaces Direct and Storage Replica components of Microsoft Windows Server Remote Desktop Services 2016 - Device CAL since TP5. I am currently testing different scenarios in my lab and find both technologies very interesting. Microsoft improved nearly every aspect of Windows Server with the release of Windows Server 2016 while adding fantastic new features like Nano Server, Server/Hyper-V Containers, rolling upgrades for clusters, hot adding of memory and network adapters for virtual machines, nested virtualization, PowerShell Direct, Linux Secure Boot, VM Shield/Host Guardian, Storage Spaces Direct, and support for Docker.

I have been playing around with 2016 standard

I have been playing around with Microsoft Windows Server Remote Desktop Services 2016 - Device CAL for a few months now. I enjoy some of the new improvements to storage and networking. The added flexibility with the improvement to software defined components really let you maximize you hardware and logically separate your resources. I have not played around with the isolated VM feature and look forward to diving into it deeper. Some bugs can be fixed but they are working on it. I plan to upgrade my MCSA to 2016 this year once I decide on an exam path.
