C# is great for general purpose language. We're using Visual Studio 2017 professional in developing new software within C#. We're also using it in supportng legacy C#, legacy ASP, and ASP.NET. Visual Studio happens to be highly effective in such scenarios. As a matter of fact, our team members are also using it in developing web pages. There are no issues i can complain about, though i love complaining. Still, Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 gives me nothing for that pleasure.
I'm a front end developer workin on MVC apps on a daily basis. Intellisense is an awesome functionality that assisted me in writing code super quickly. This is better compared to the Dreamweaver that I was used to back then. Amazing stuff this Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 Professional! In own personal opinion, Visual Studio happens to be a top-of-the-line IDE. It's the latest in C#, .NET, and Visual Basic development for the Windows OS. Some versions are free while others come with an MSDN subscription. These days there are variants that run on both Mac OS and Linux. Microsoft is doing so much today that also includes the ability to run on products that don't run Microsoft.
One of Visual Studio's standout functionality is IntelliSense. A lot of IDEs possess it but the one it has is a lot functionality. This is because it showcases errors and suggestions. Even when utilizing the function/method, it'll showcase a short documentation. A documentation is also shown for the present parameter. Other awesome functioanlity includes a profiler and a built-in debugger. Visual Studio 2017 Professional is one awesome IDE. But nothing comes in perfect. One downside is that it lack support for certain languages. Another is that despite Microsoft claiming you programming the C/C++ programs for Linux via Visual Studio, it's still considered immature. The reason is the lack of semaphore, pthread, and unistd.
