If you loved the idea of having copies of your work up there on cloud safe and secure with possibly unlimited memory, stick with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter - 2 processors. As part of the simplification and extension of high availability, local continuous replication bit the dust. Microsoft's answer: Go get another server instead. Not really simple but usefull software, still using it today..
The changes inMicrosoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter - 2 processorsare less radical. At least on the surface. The management console will look broadly familiar, and the same server roles exist. That said, there are some big changes underneath, once again aimed mainly at improving scalability and availability. In Windows Server 2010, high availability was based on Windows failover clustering, which was complex and expensive.
Windows Server continues to make high-availability simple by creating DAGs, multiple servers cooperating to make a set of Exchange mailboxes highly available through continuous replication and high-availability failover. It's not a simple feature to roll out, but it's a lot simpler than it used to be and doesn't take a PhD in Exchange to use.
