More room to manage your account
Many Outlook settings that are not directly related to creating or managing Outlook items, such as print commands and account management options, are now in the Microsoft Office Backstage view.
Click File to manage your accounts, set up rules and Automatic Replies, and find other behind-the-scenes options.

Quickly find the commands
The ribbon is designed to help you quickly find the commands that you need to complete a task. Commands are organized in logical groups that are collected together under tabs.

In Outlook 2010, the ribbon has replaced the former menus in the main Outlook window. In addition, the ribbon can be customized to include custom tabs that you can personalize to better match your work style.

Reduce the noise in your Inbox
If a conversation is no longer relevant to you, you can prevent additional responses from appearing in your Inbox. The Ignore command moves the whole Conversation and any future messages that arrive in the Conversation to the Deleted Items folder. For more information, see Ignore Conversation.
Clean Up Conversations
When a message contains all the previous messages in the Conversation, you can click Clean Up to eliminate the other redundant messages. For example, as people reply to a Conversation, the response is at the top and the previous messages in the Conversation are below.

We upgraded the rest of office to 2013, but we love this product because the new outlook won't work with Google Apps Sync in order to seamlessly sync our gmail and corporate calandar.
Why, you ask, does 2013 not work? because the new Office is a click-to-run versus an msi (disc) version and somehow this just gets in the way of Apps sync.
Microsoft must be having some sort of spat with Google because they refuse to find a workaround for this issue. Luckilly, Outlook 10 is still working with all of it!
I tried to completely switch to a web based email system. I felt that it would be easier to keep track of all my messages but I was very wrong. Since receiving my Outlook 2010 I have been able to stay more organized especially with the 4 different email accounts that I am responsible for. I've used Microsoft products for years and for some reason have never even thought about using it at home. So I bought Microsoft's Outlook 2010 while still using MS Office 2007 w/Word/Exel/Powerpoint/OneNote. They work together very well. Before purchasing this item, I was using webmail for several different sites with no way to manage email. Outlook 2010 finally answered this question. I use Outlook at work everyday, but at home I had to do something else. It is performing great and I like it very much.
