Overview

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Standard CAL - License

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Standard CAL - License - 1 user CAL - MOLP: Open Business - Win - Single Language
Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 brings a rich set of technologies, features, and services to the Exchange Server product line. Its goal is to support people and organizations as their work habits evolve from a communication focus to a collaboration focus. At the same time, Exchange Server 2010 helps lower the total cost of ownership whether you deploy Exchange 2010 on-premises or provision your mailboxes in the cloud.

Businesses using Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Standard need to have licenses to access the server. This pack includes five client access licenses (CALs) that are designed for use with devices rather than individuals. Exchange Server 2010 Standard is a very popular mail server and is used by many companies. When new employees are hired, they are typically setup with a company email as one of the early new hire policies. The device license is assigned to the employees computer rather than the employee. If an employee leaves the company or is reassigned, the device license stays in place; in order to use it, a new hire simply needs to have their email credentials installed on the computer with the device license.

Exchange Server 2010 is an award-winning mail server that is flexible, allowing it to perfectly meet a companys needs. This server allows for anywhere access so users can check their emails from a desktop, laptop, tablet or cell phone. Note that this device license does not need to be assigned to a PC. If the company uses laptops exclusively for example, the license would be assigned to the laptop. The employee would not have access to their email using multiple devices.

Installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is not the final step when it comes to using this email client. The user also needs a client access license (CAL) to see the full benefits of this popular program. Without a CAL, the user will not be able to access the Exchange server. Exchange Server 2010 has won awards for being the best mail server available and despite there being newer versions on the market, it remains a popular mail server choice today. Users with a CAL in hand can send emails using Exchange 2010 from the desktop, laptop, tablet or cell phone and all transmissions will be secure as a result of the many security measures in place. These measures include data compliance and loss prevention tools that will help companies easily protect communications. Exchange Server can also be set up to perform to the needs of an individual business as opposed to a one size fits all approach to mail servers.

First Real Experience

My first real experience with Exchange was when we built an Exchange 2010 box here where I work. Following a few guidelines and documents on the topic, I was able to install and configure a working Exchange, by myself, in just a couple days. Sure, maybe there are some out there who would say "it took you that long?", but being someone who has never worked with Exchange until I installed it, I think that's pretty good. We've been on this Exchange now for the better part of half a year and have yet to have any major issues. There have been small problems come up along the way, such as those concerning SSL certificates and getting OWA to work properly when our public domain does not point to our public IP address (our public domain is hosted by a 3rd party), and a few other small ones. But all in all, I am very pleased with Exchange server 2010 User CAL.

Can't imagine working without it

I can't even imagine my organization running on anything other than exchange. It's top of the line and the possibilities it provides our company is amazing. Great piece of software! I love the power of the console and the ease of the GUI. It has come a long way and is hands down the best of the best! Exchange 2010 User CAL. Just got the Unified Messaging working with our MITEL VOIP and it rocks. Also love the Powershell integration.

I really like Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 CAL

This Microsoft product, for the most part, is headed in the right direction. Every release, it gets a little smoother, a little easier, a little more feature packed. I have heard horror stories from others about mail servers, and then seen ours go through everything without a hiccup; I'd rather not look to see what others are doing, because I don't like fixing what is certainly not broken. I really like the software.
