Analyse your Data
Recommended Pivot Table and Flash Fill are two features that will revolutionize the way you process and filter data. Use the pivot table options to summarize your data in different ways with different goals in mind. With Flash Fill you can rely on Excel to learn your habits and patterns and use that information to auto-complete the rest of the data set without the need for macros and formulas.
Visualize your Data
When arranging and organizing your data, explore Excels data illustration features that will recommend certain types of charts and graphs to showcase the patterns in your data in the best possible configuration. You can preview suggestions before selecting the ones that work.
Customize your Data
No two data sets are alike. Microsoft Excel 2013 gives you the power to customize your charts, graphs, and sheets to reflect the specific nature of your data. Choose the layout, titles and design elements from the interactive interface.
Share your Data
The workbooks you create can be shared easily with others through multiple avenues. Sharing is made easy and quick with SkyDrive and SharePoint. Send out a link to your file with adjustable editing and viewing permissions. You can also post your spreadsheets online by embedding them to your social media pages. Finally, share entire workbooks and collaborate in real-time with others using the Lync conversation system. Others will be able to make edits and take control of your workbook as you watch over them from wherever they are.
Microsoft Excel 2013 provides you with an intuitive and dynamic system that helps you to visualize and analyze your data. You are able to bring new insights to light and make the most of your important information, whether you are tallying your expenses in a spreadsheet or tracking gains in revenue. Workbooks are now easier to share than ever, giving you the flexibility to cooperate with others on projects and access your workbooks from anywhere.

A highly practical software that takes the mystery out of modeling by working a number of problems, each introduced in small chunks, and all using Excel's built in functionality. It covers most of the most important options you need for a proper usage. The "lots of small chapters" approach allows the user to learn both Excel and modeling capabilities in a relatively painless way. Multiple editions have stood the test of time, and I've found that other people independently have come to the conclusion that this is the right place to start on both using Excel more effectively and thinking about decisions from a modeling perspective.
I have used excel for very long time but this book just takes your excel skills to whole another level. The best thing about the book are the exercises. Each chapter has anywhere between 10 -20 exercises, and if you diligently do them, you can be pretty confident that you have a reasonable functional mastery of the subject. SOME EXAMPLES: Here are some examples of what you can accomplish with this book. Use it as a checklist to see if you will find the book helpful.
> Write A formula to calculate the distance between two cities
> You have a paid event with multiple fee levels and several expenses. How many people need to attend to break even ?
> Create a Pivot Table that gives average salary broken down by department?
> How are monthly stock returns of Microsoft , GE, and Cisco Related?
I've been learning Excel 2013 powerpivot for the last year. It's revolutionized the way the organization I work for does it's financial analysis and reporting. I've trained 30 of my staff on the basics of powerpivot. This book to me is the top resource for learning powerpivot and as a reference for both beginner and advanced users. I've bought almost every book there is on powerpivot and this is the best. The other books I've bought have been helpful and useful but this is the best.
