I'm not sure about the problems other people have been having... I bought the hard copy disk, installed, and things were peachy. (I'm pretty sure if you just buy the activation key you'll need to download a trial of the office program first and then enter the key once the software has downloaded...that's how I've done it with other software). I won't say I love Microsoft Office 365 Business Essentials as I think some things are more cumbersome than earlier versions...but this is the real software and I've had no problem with it, so 5 stars for that.
I have been using Microsoft Office 365 Business Enterprise for a long time both at work and at home. The main reason that I purchased this program over Office 10 is Outlook which I believe is the best email program available. Also, since I intend to keep my new laptop for 7 years, it was more practical to pay less for the life of the computer verses every year. I have been using Microsoft Office 365 Business Essentials on my older laptop ( I got it free through an agreement between Microsoft and my government contract employer) since 2011. I have many files already from using the older version and therefore did not want to use any other program for revisions or updates to these files.
I am a seasoned computer tech and MS Office is hands-down the best Productivity Suite on the market. Yes, there are other fine free ones out there . . . BUT . . . If you want to be compatible with 99.9% of the workforce, you'll need MS Office and the amount of features, inter-operability and templates to get you started can't be touched. I've used them all - and nothing compares. My primary customer base is businesses and there isn't any other PS products that can stand next to Microsoft Office 365 Business Essentials from Tech Supply Shop! The delivery could have been faster though
