Windows 7 Professional was designed for use by medium and large businesses and includes applications such as an encrypting file system and the ability for users to join a workgroup known as Windows Domain. While geared to businesses, this operating system can be used on the home. Microsoft Windows Professional 64-bit OEM from Tech Supply Shop can only be installed on 64-bit systems as it will not work in 32-bit machines. Please check your system specifications before ordering. The acronym OEM? refers to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software is this is similar to the preinstalled software on new computers. This is genuine software from Microsoft that is guaranteed to install, activate and work successfully on your computer. You should be aware that OEM software cannot be installed on a different PC after it is activated. The operating system is tied to the machine, so if the PC malfunctions, the software will be lost. Windows 7 has new and refined features and looks over its predecessors, most notably Windows XP and Windows Vista, including a new look task bar and the Snap window management system. Windows 7 also introduced the world to Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Media Center 12.

The champ

I have both window 7 and 8. Window 7 is still the best ever even if it's already few years old. Microsoft Windows 7 Professional OEM 64bit Box Edition still the champ of windows. I will not buy window 8 any more but will wait for window 9. Hopefully, Microsoft come up with better version just like vista to window 7. Think about it, window 7 is more expensive than window 8 but why people still keep buying window 7; reason is that it's a lot better than window 8. I give this version 5 stars vs 3 stars to window 8.

AWESOME!

No experience with Windows 8, but upgraded from XP and 7 Professional OEm (64bit box edition) is simply AWESOME!! I can't wait to build my wife a new computer with this OS. She will love it too! Builders grade means Microsoft will not offer support and there are a few other details that slip my mind so make sure you know what you are buying and are comfortable. Oh - also the builders grade ties itself to the first mobo it is installed on and can't be transferred to others. Read up on it before you buy it. I recommend it highly!!

All on time!

This item arrived on-time and saved me from having to buy a new computer. It worked well on my Dell T3400 workstation. All I did to improve the performance on Microsoft Windows 7 Professional OEM 64bit Box Edition was to add an additional 4 GB of memory, making a total of 8 GB now on my computer. 4 GB's is usually all you need to run Windows 7, but I still wanted to upgrade the memory. I did this because my old XP Professional was about to expire with updates. The installation was a bit harder, and it took some time and a call to Tech Supply Shop, but it was worth it in the end. Thank you Tech Supply Shop for this product.
