I would highly encourage any groups looking to run meetings or collaborate on ideas and centrally store your information to look into MS SharePoint. It is a very good product. I like the ease of use. It was very easy to set up a basic website out of the box. Also it didn't take long to understands the webparts to add additional features to the site. The workflow for SP was not as intuitive as I thought it would be. It seems you may have to add additional modules for a more robust workflow engine on SharePoint.

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 Standard CAL is a generally good collaboration tool once everyone is onboard.
