Overview

Access your Data

With Access 2013 you can connect, manage and analyze your data stored locally and in remote databases. Import data from Access desktop databases, Excel, ODBC, text files and SharePoint. View your data and create applications to interact and analyze it.

Building an App

Using your SharePoint server or Office 365 site as a host, you'll be able to build a polished, browser-based database app. Under the hood, Access apps use SQL Server to provide the best performance and data integrity. On the startup screen, click Custom web app. With Access 2013, you can still create traditional desktop databases from scratch. Or, try out a template to create an app, a desktop database, or a web database.

New Table Templates

Quickly add tables to your app using pre-designed table templates. If you're tracking tasks, search for the Tasks template and click it. If you see the multiple-table indicator next to a template, that means Access will add commonly used related tables for you so you can get started with a truly relational database. Access creates views for each table that display data from related tables.

Easy Organization

Access apps save you the trouble of building views, switchboards and other user interface (UI) elements. Table names show up on the left edge of the window, and the views for each table appear across the top. All apps have a similar navigation structure, making it easier for people to learn and switch between apps. You can always add more custom views besides the ones provided by the app.

Take Control of your Data

Discover all of the powerful features from Microsoft Access. Connect, manage and control your databases with easy to build apps.

Whats new in Access 2013 In a word, apps. An Access web app is a new type of database that you build in Access, then use and share with others as a SharePoint app in a web browser. To build an app, you just select the type of data you want to track (contacts, tasks, projects, and so on). Access creates the database structure, complete with views that let you add and edit data. Navigation and basic commands are built-in, so you can start using your app right away.

Relatively Simple Software

An Microsoft Access 2013 License Open Government database can be designed and put to use rather fast, in order to answer an immediate need, even if the design must be done by someone with no previous exposure to Access. It can be modified/improved later on, without much impact on the users. A relatively simple Access database does not require knowledge of any programming language. It can be implemented by using 'macros', which are of a 'point-and-click' type. If a more complex application is required, Access is fully compatible with Visual Basic for Applications language, which is a object-oriented, even-driven programming language, designed by Microsoft specifically for utilization by all modules belonging to the Office suite.

User Friendly

Microsoft Access 2013 License Open Government is very user friendly - it doesn't take much work to begin using Microsoft Access. Keeps track of my contacts - If I need to quickly find a contact, it saves the information without having to be prompted every time. I always hit 'save' at the end of the day just to be sure, but I have never lost any information I have entered. Microsoft Access is a little better suited to collect information in a database setting than working with Excel. Excel is really starting from scratch, where Access has some prepared modules that make it easier to use from the beginning.

Simple User Interface

Microsoft Access 2013 License Open Government is a great tool for organizing contacts. It would work great for a marketing situation, or just to keep track of contacts you deal with on a regular basis. It would be great if you could add a picture of a business card or something as well, but I have not explored enough to see if that is an option. Access has a simple user interface and is intuitive enough for more people to use without much confusion. While this may seem to imply that it has fewer functionalities than other software, that is not true.
