Only PC

The only reason I bought Parallels Desktop 13 program is so I could run a database program that is ONLY available on the PC. It runs very well in that instance. It was pretty easy to install and hasn't screwed up anything on my Mac yet, so I guess that is good. We use it at work too and run lots of Windows programs on the Mac and haven't had any trouble yet. I recommend it to anyone who (unfortunately) needs to run Windows on their Mac.

wasn't easy choice

In my current role, I have a requirement to use both Windows and Mac applications. Rather than hauling around two computers, I chose to use a Parallels Desktop 13, with virtualization software. This wasn't an easy choice - I've been a loyal Stinkpad lover for years. I've been using Parallels since Intel Macs came into existence, and I love the experience. I've tried Parallels, Suns' VirtualBox, and VMWare's Fusion, and I keep going back to Parallels. Sun's offering is just not ready for prime time. VMWare is fine, and Parallels' offering always seems slightly more polished. If you want the best notebook available today, get a MacBook or MacBook Pro. If you need to run Windows applications, get a MacBook or MacBook Pro, and then get Parallels Desktop 13. It's just that simple.

Better Desktop Integration

I installed Parallels Desktop 13 desktop for the Mac almost as soon as I had the Mac home. Like many other users, I have been a PC guy for years, and I (to be honest) dreaded the transfer of data from one OS to the other, so instead I went for Parallels Desktop. It was super easy to install, and allowed be to transfer my applications, and data to the previous host OS (Windows XP) and run them all from one hardware platform. It operated completely in the background and does not seem to impact the performance of either Operating System, and allows easy sharing of data between the OS through a shared folder in each OS environment.
