Nano Server

Nano Server is a very tiny version of Windows Server 2016, achieved by removing the GUI component of Windows Server 2016. Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Datacenter 2 Core License - Open Academic is light years ahead of its predecessors. The level of ease with which you can setup and implement your infrastructure with 2016 is amazing. Overall experience with installing Server 2016 was great. Easy to install and configure for the purpose we need. We are Using a Windows Server 2016 Standard core Single OLP for one of our centers and it 100% caters the need of a small office or a particular center for data backup and file sharing.

Nice Upgrade

Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Datacenter 2 Core License - Open Academic. A much better overall experience that Server 2012. We are rolling it out to all of our new Domain Controllers. The Windows Server Operating System is reliable and stable as always. This is the main reason I purchase it. Nice upgrade from 2012R2. "New" Start menu is a welcomed feature over the old "metro" style interface. There is no place for that in the server world.

The 2016 edition includes multiple roles that are essential to your company's success. Active Directory is probably its most important feature, allowing you to manage users and secure your resources. Installing and configuring windows server is very simple, just follow the wizards and you'll be up and running in no time. Other notable features are Hyper-V which allows the virtualization of multiple other windows server instances without taking any physical space.
